Why is Comfort, Texas called Comfort?

It was called Camp Comfort thinking it was going to get easier and better. It didn’t get easier, so they dropped the name “Camp” and it became Comfort, Texas.

Comfort is right along I-10 about 30 minutes north of San Antonio. It’s about 25 minutes to Fredericksburg, 25 minutes to Kerrville, and 34 minutes to Bandera, making it an ideal location for reaching the heart of the Hill Country.
